Gray Days and Gold January 2024

Hello, friends. I have this ridiculous hobby. Many of my favorite musicians toil away in obscurity, expending lots of time, money and emotional effort making something that relatively few people will ever hear. To reassure them that someone’s paying attention, each month I expend a lot of time, money and emotional effort in finding, buying, and assembling their music into a fake radio show that relatively few people will ever hear. It’s called Gray Days and Gold.

You can listen to this episode via the embedded player just below in this blog post, or on the Mixcloud website, via the Mixcloud mobile app, on your Sonos system, etc. (If you’re reading via an email digest in which the audio player isn’t embedded, please click the button below.)

There’s also a more barebones iteration of this episode’s playlist (minus my commentary, as well as songs that might be missing from the streaming libraries for some reason) on Spotify and Apple Music.

If you like what you hear, please support the artists. You’ll find buy links to the tracks in the bulleted list below.

  1. If it makes you feel any better about the time, money and effort, those who do hear the show love it 🙂

    • Thank you, Tom; that’s very kind. (I was aiming for wry and self-deprecating with that introductory note, but my wife informed me that it came across a bit more self-pitying. Apologies for that.)
