Generally not ones to commit to a single style, Thievery Corporation‘s foray into full-blown downtempo Brazilian music is suitably eclectic in its way, featuring five female vocalists singing in as many languages. Essentially abandoning electronics and samples for live percussion, strings and Spanish guitar, the atmospherics and grooves are more lush, warm, melancholy and deeply seductive than on any of their previous work.
